FAQ

Questions parents ask us every day.

We’ve gathered the most common questions from families in Chicago so you can feel confident before your first visit.

Enrollment & Admissions

How to get started

The process is simple: contact us via phone or email to schedule a visit, tour our space, and meet our team. After the visit, we’ll guide you through the paperwork and enrollment steps.

We welcome children from 6 weeks old through 5 years of age, covering infants, toddlers, early explorers, and our Pre-K Prep program.

Spots are limited because we keep our groups small to guarantee personalized attention. We recommend reaching out as early as possible — some families register months in advance.

You will need your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, emergency contact information, and a signed enrollment agreement. We’ll send you the complete checklist after your visit.

Yes. We encourage families to schedule a tour and, when possible, a short orientation visit so your child can get familiar with our space and team before their first full day.

Schedule & Hours

Everything you need to know about our daily schedule and what to expect week to week.

We are open Monday through Friday. Morning drop-off begins at 7:30 AM and pickup closes at 5:00 PM. Please contact us directly to confirm hours that fit your schedule.

We understand every family is different. Reach out to discuss part-time options — we do our best to accommodate working parents’ schedules whenever possible.

We follow a schedule aligned with the Chicago Public Schools calendar for most holidays. We always notify families in advance about closures so you can plan ahead.

We ask that parents respect pickup times as much as possible. If you anticipate a delay, please notify us as early as possible. A late pickup fee may apply after a grace period.

Drop-off and pickup happen at our home entrance. Only adults listed on the authorized pickup list will be allowed to take your child. A daily verbal and written report is shared at pickup.

Programs & Curriculum

Learning, language & development

English and Spanish are integrated into every part of the day — morning circle, stories, songs, activities, and conversations. Children absorb both languages naturally without formal ‘lessons’, which is the most effective method at this age.

Not at all. Children from English-only or Spanish-only households both thrive in our program. We meet each child where they are linguistically and build from there.

We use a play-based early education approach aligned with Illinois Early Learning Standards, focusing on social-emotional development, early literacy, math foundations, and creative arts.

Yes — this is one of our greatest strengths. We support children who benefit from cognitive or occupational therapy approaches and work closely with parents and any external therapists to maintain consistency across environments.

We observe and document milestones regularly and share updates at pickup and in monthly progress notes. We are always available to discuss your child’s growth directly.

Meals, Health & Safety

Your child’s health, safety, and nutrition are our first priority — every single day.

Yes, completely. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are included in your monthly tuition. You do not need to send food with your child.

Absolutely. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary needs during enrollment and we will make the necessary accommodations to keep your child safe and well-nourished.

For the health of all children, we ask that sick children stay home until they have been fever-free and symptom-free for at least 24 hours. If your child becomes ill during the day we will notify you immediately for pickup.

Yes. Creative Minds Learning Academy is fully licensed by the State of Illinois DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services) and undergoes regular inspections.

Our home is childproofed throughout. We follow strict hygiene and sanitization protocols, maintain a limited group size, and have emergency procedures in place. Only authorized adults may pick up children.
